AS atelier architecture + photography editions presents a collection in POSTCARDS of his last work PATAGONIA UNKNOWN”. Revisited the old book, portraying a little-known Patagonia both in black and white and colours.
Fifty years ago, in February, Bruce Chatwin visited Patagonia and her next book, "Chatwin in Patagonia", was the spiritual guide for all travelers dreaming of visiting the land where the world ends, his book is a tribute to the narrative as it is for the place itself. The images are part of an editorial project titled
"PATAGONIA the south of the world when the world finished". An authorship that led me to travel 17,000 km from Rio Colorado to the Magellan Strait, from the Andes to the Pacific. The geographical region of more than 900,000 sq. Km, three times around Italy, with a density of 2.21 inhabitants for sq. Km, 2500 km from La Pampa to Magellan Strait.
A travel across, of Southern Patagonia, recounted with a look that portrays images of a little-known Patagonia. From infinite landscapes ranging from the steppe to the most famous glaciers in South America, to the hard work of the shepherds in precarious conditions where workers challenging the climatic conditions and the wind. In a silent land, who represent with their work to the modern, and industrialized world today.
A scenario inhabited by millions of sheep and silent gauchos that still live isolated for months, gestures and looks of those who live, work, and seek to fight in the south of the world, or even those who still represent the spirit of true Patagonia; human deserts where God and the Wind still reign, places where I wanted to go back several times to complete my "vision" of Patagonia, where no fact of actuality seemed so fascinating as this work linked to the culture of my land.
